This rise of Asia in the last decade has brought about a paradigm change in the ways that businesses and firms think about their current and future strategy. There are no firms today that can undermine or not to think of their global strategy without thinking of a comprehensive China and India strategy. China has successfully leveraged its governmental structure to attract the foreign companies fueling its manufacturing boom while India's indigenous entrepreneurship is thriving in a way that cannot be ignored. The dragon and the elephant make for a fascinating comparison because of the variation it creates.
The goal of this course makes participants aware of Chinese and Indian management styles, decision-making processes, managerial opportunities, challenges and dilemmas that Asian complexities create. The course seeks to address this need by providing an insight into the international business models and operations in the region. It tries to understand - How does multinational Western and local companies conduct business in this geographically vast, rapidly fluctuating, and tempting environment?
